The New York City Police Museum selected Plaza Construction
Corporation as the Construction Manager for the newly renovated
museum.
The exhibition includes an array of police shields, fingerprinting and
forensic art stations, a drug awareness display, tactics simulator, police
vehicles and memorabilia, an interactive crime scene and an actual station house muster room. The Museum also hosts seminars and workshops
throughout the year. All programs are designed to inform the
public of the many services provided by the Police Department, as
well as to provide a forum to discuss many issues important to families,
communities and visitors.
The construction time
frame needed to be minimized
as the Museum
was continuously open
during the renovation
and depended on the
daily revenue.
One major challenge was
the close coordination of
the architect, engineer
and subcontractors in
developing the details
for the custom exhibit
display cases which
house the many historical
Police Department
artifacts.
