Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein
Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein (DKW) selected Plaza to manage the multi-phase construction of their United States headquarters.
The Georgian style architecture included Bottocino marble elevator lobbies, reception areas with limestone walls and stone base, wood wainscot, chair rail, and intricate crown molding. Crotch mahogany raised office door panels with egg and dart molding and mahogany wall panels were installed to compliment glass office fronts. Wood and plaster coffered ceilings were used to create a nice balance through the executive foyers. Clad in stone and accented by a custom wrought iron railing, a monumental staircase with floating intermediate landings adjoins the atrium between the 43rd and 45th floors.
In contrast to the classic treatment given to the executive office space, the 140 position trading floor was designed with a more contemporary feel. The trading facilities and support areas on floors 35 and 36. Executive offices and conference areas on floors 41-45.
Indirect lighting, raised access flooring, triangular shaped connecting stairways, and an 8,000 square-foot data center are the primary components of the space.
