Intrepid Spirit Centers
Plaza Construction represented the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund by providing program management services for the Intrepid Spirit Centers. Services included conceptual design through project opening. The new facilities operate as satellites to the National Intrepid Center of Excellence (NICoE) in Bethesda, MD, managed by Plaza in 2010. Each of the new facilities enable the treatment of over 1,500 soldiers a year and extend the care currently provided at the NICOE Center.
Each of the 25,000 square-foot facilities is a single story steel framed structure with curtain wall, exterior brick, new roadways and associated site work. The rehabilitation center consists of multiple exam rooms, speech, balance and neurological treatment areas, as well as a therapy gymnasium.
