One Thousand Museum
This expansive and unique residential tower stands 63 stories tall and includes 84 luxury condominiums. Residents have access to the only rooftop helipad in Miami, multiple pools, and a sky lounge. The structure features intricate exoskeleton columns running up the exterior of the building. The exoskeleton eliminates the use of internal columns and allows for a more unrestricted floorplan layout. The envelope incorporates five different glazing systems, linear and curved glass railed balconies, aluminum GFRC panels, and eight story custom architectural elements. This project is supported by 239 auger cast piles reaching 130’ deep and spanning up 30” in diameter. Under the garage podium sits a 12’ thick mat slab and 101 piles measuring 60’ to 80’ deep. The sites urban location required a self-climbing core system that was used to erect the tower while maintaining a safe environment for adjacent properties. The project was also featured on PBS’s “Impossible Builds."
