SOMA at Brickell

This residential facility sits on 2.41 acres in Miami’s Brickell neighborhood. The expansive structure includes a movie theater, basketball court, and three courtyards. The integrity of the building is supported by a spread footing foundation system, featuring cast-in-place post tensioned concrete decks with steel columns. The exterior is adorned with block and stucco, decorative EIFS, a structural roof trellis, and a combination of glass and aluminum picket balcony rails. Field crews demolished the five existing buildings to construct these residential towers. Extensive work was required to tie-in the utilities present from the previous structure. This project was awarded a LEED Silver certification for its environmentally safe characteristics.
