Unidad North Beach Oceanfront Center

Located on Miami Beach, this building serves as a community and senior center. The interior features administrative offices, multi-purpose rooms, and a catering kitchen. Sitting on the beach, the hybrid structure consists of cast-in-place concrete, block, and steel joists. It is supported by 262 piles sitting 32’ below grade and 11’ below the water table. The exterior includes a 20’ cantilevered terrace and roof system, floating steel stairs, tile terrazzo, and an aluminum clade façade. In order to meet the City of Miami Beach’s turtle code, LED lighting was installed throughout the facility. Detailed planning ensured the safety of the neighboring construction site and beach patrons.
