Plaza Construction was selected to assist the New York Branch of China Merchants Bank’s (CMB) move into its new 14,000 sq. ft., retrofitted office space. The project presented both time constrictions and construction challenges. Important time allotted for CMB to combine temporary office space on the 5th and 27th floors, while their new space was being constructed on the 23rd floor. The move-in date had to be accomplished prior to the start of the Chinese New Year and before the temporary office lease expired. Plaza conducted extensive value engineering to save on construction costs, meet a tight schedule, and provide the most feasible solutions, to address the needs of our client, as well as those of the tenant below the space. In working with the design team, Plaza was able to install the bathroom and pantry over a weekend, in order to maintain the tenants daily operations without interruption.
